Why a drawing and not a dashboard

Uptime figures are easy to publish. A section drawing is harder to fake.

Most colocation sites open with a number nobody can check. We would rather show you the building: where the power enters, what carries the load when it stops, how air moves through a hall and where a fibre pair actually lands.

Everything on this site is design intent for a facility at concept stage. Where a document would normally be produced — a commissioning report, an incident record, a capacity register — we have described its structure instead of claiming to hold it.

If a figure appears twice, it is the same figure. Change the rack count in the brief and the footprint drawing changes with it.

Sample configuration

Pick a cabinet in the drawing to read its detail. Positions, loads and feeds are the design intent for this illustrative aisle — not a live view of an occupied hall.

Turn a system off and see what is left.

Every path that keeps a cabinet running is drawn separately, so you can follow one at a time instead of reading a diagram with everything on it at once.

Cold air is delivered under the raised floor, enters the contained cold aisle through floor grilles and leaves through the cabinets. Nothing mixes on the way back to the CRAH return.

Three jobs that are not the same job.

Watching a facility, responding when something goes wrong and keeping the plant serviced are separate responsibilities with separate people. Here is how each one is written down.

Six things are watched continuously. Each one has a source and a threshold, so an alarm means the same thing to everyone on shift.

The paperwork a facility should be able to hand you.

This is a list of documents, not a list of credentials. Each one is described by what it would contain and marked as still to be prepared.

Read this before the list.

Colo Chennai is a fictional showcase brand. No item below is an audited certificate, a Tier rating or a service-level guarantee, and none has been issued by any body. They are the documents a facility at this stage would be working towards.

Straight answers

Questions a buyer actually asks.

Is Colo Chennai a real facility?

No. It is a fictional brand built as a design showcase. The building, the plant list and every figure on this site are a worked example of how a colocation facility could be explained, not a description of somewhere you can buy space.

Do you hold a Tier rating or a certification?

Nothing on this site is a Tier rating, an audited certification or a service-level guarantee, and we do not display a certification mark. The assurance section lists the documents a real facility would produce, each labelled as still to be prepared.

Where do the numbers come from?

They are design intent, worked out once and reused everywhere. 192 racks across 2 halls at 160 standard and 32 high-density positions gives the 1,200 kW design IT load quoted in every drawing and summary on the site.

What does N+1 mean here?

One more unit than the design load needs. Three generators where two carry the facility, three UPS modules where two carry the IT load, three chillers where two meet the cooling load. It describes the equipment count, not an availability promise.

Is the rack brief a quote?

No. The configurator produces an illustrative footprint and a component summary you can take into a conversation. It has no prices, commits nothing and reserves nothing.

Tour enquiry

Come and check the drawings against the building.

A tour takes about ninety minutes: the yard, Level 0 plant, one hall and the meet-me room, with the design intent document open on the table afterwards.
