No. It is a fair first guess from four answers. The fixed price comes after the site visit, once we have measured the roof, checked shade and opened the switchboard.
Your bill less the daily supply charge ($1.15 a day) at 33c a kWh gives your usage. We size for 1.5× that usage, using Brisbane sun: 1,524 kWh a year for each kW on a north roof, 86% of that facing east or west and 72% facing south. We assume you use 55% of the solar yourself if someone is home, 30% if not, and export the rest at your feed-in tariff.
The federal Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme creates certificates (STCs) for every new system. We claim them and take their value off your invoice. Brisbane is zone 3, so a 6.6 kW system earns 45 STCs in 2026, which we value at $38 each. The number falls every January until the scheme ends in 2030.

It makes about 72% of what a north roof does. We often split the array across east and west instead, which also spreads generation into the morning and late afternoon.
