Nine laterite piers carry a deep verandah in front of the reading hall, so the monsoon can fall a metre from the books. The pitched roof runs the full 34 m and vents at the ridge. Concept project; the drawing is an abstract study.

A folded concrete plate pleats north light into the upper storey and throws the south face into shade. The bedroom floor cantilevers 2.4 m past the plinth onto one slender column. Concept project; the drawing is an abstract study.
